Growing up on the North Shore of Oahu, Ryan began his artistic voyage in ceramics sculpting stunning humpback whales, dolphins and honu (sea turtles). At age 17 his work débuted at the Honolulu Academy of Arts with a Raku ceramic whale sculpture entitled “Pod of Whales”. While in high school Ryan won serval awards for his sculptor and went on to sell his pices at the Haleiwa Art Gallery.

In the early 2000’s Ryan started to work with Acrylic paint and Multi-Media and instantly was hooked. His art is captivating with vibrant colors and truly captures the essence of Hawaii’s– ocean, beaches, culture and environment. Global and vintage materials often are interwoven into the canvas creating a unique 3D perspective for each painting. Ryan’s painting style is dynamic and he uses his hands, cooking utensils and various other objects to create his masterpieces.
